Well it happened. I missed a day of blogging about gratitude. BUT I didn’t miss a day of being grateful!
The ironic thing is that yesterday’s prompt was about experience. And I spent the day with one of my very best friends. I experienced gratitude, so I should get a pass on writing about it…right? Okay, cool.
On to day 13: I am grateful for gifts.
If you’re familiar with the 5 love languages (gifts, touch, words, service, time) you know that people tend to gravitate toward one or two types of love. We prefer to both show and receive love in specific ways. Mine are quality time and gifts.
For many, a gift means something tangible. Something you can unwrap and touch. Well, since becoming a minimalist, I have really had to cut down on both buying and asking for tangible gifts. The cool thing about this is that it has allowed me to have more experiences (LOL I’m totally tying these two days of gratitude together and getting away with skipping a day!). Taylor and I have been getting massages, taking weekend trips, going to football and basketball games and so many more fun activities.
It’s the gift of experience and I am grateful for both!
